-This is when the HUD currently is in the initial or default state; from here you are able to select a character or create a new one.
-There are a few ways to become part of a family from the “Lost Soul” status on the HUD:
-You can be offered a position by another individual in the family that is made available by a recent birth. Births are the result of sexual intercourse between two individuals; therefore, accepting a birth offer as an entry point into a family thereby makes you a son or daughter of the individuals that offered the birth, and extends the family tree another generation. Once you accept an offer into a family, you assume that birth: Name (which includes the first name chosen by the mother, and the last name of the mother), Gender (which can be male, female, or herm), and Species (which will be the species of the mother, or a hybrid if one is available), as well as Class and Form.
-You can choose a species and gender; just like option one, you will be placed into a family that has made their birth publicly available through the choose option so that someone may join their family without them explicitly offering that birth.
-You can spawn and choose your gender, species, form, class, and name; you will be placed as the child of Adam and Eve for the species, so you will have other siblings that have chosen a similar option to spawn. There is a fee for this option that may increase per species.

-Did you just read “characters” as in plural? You sure did! You can have up to 9, so don’t get carried away. Once you have created your initial character, you can return back to the initial state by choosing Options > Leave.

-There are four stages of aging: Child, Adolescence, Young Adult, Adult. Fertility begins sometime during the Adolescence period. Aging is based on species (different for each species) number of days till you are considered a full adult. (You are able to fully use the HUD at any of these stages. Pssst...You actually hold onto compatibility permanently when copulating during your early stages)

-Ready to get down to business? You can copulate with anyone that is utilizing the HUD, but it doesn’t always mean you are compatible or will conceive. After entering a copulation session with another individual, you are presented with a menu of what are called “stories”. Each story will offer different options and are made available based on a wide range of criteria including gender, species, age, etc...
